Salman Khan‘s ‘Sikandar‘ is set to have a big release this Eid. The film is having a wide release across the country in about 16,787 screens. When it comes to a Salman movie, especially releasing on Eid, there’s always a strong buzz, and the masses are specially waiting to see the film. However, the ticket prices for the movie have been kept really high. Not just at multiplexes but even in the single screens the ticket price has been increased.
Manoj Desai, Executive director of G7multiplex (Gaiety Galaxy) & Maratha Mandir Cinema told ETimes, “We had to increase the price to Rs 180-Rs 200. Usually, that price doesn’t suit us. But everywhere the price has increased for the film. It’s a different story that for Salman Khan and ‘Sikandar’, people will pay any price to watch the film in theatres. But even given a choice, I would not increase the ticket price. Because this price does not work in single screens like Gaeity Galaxy.”
The ticket pricing has been increased in many single screen theatres as well, which indicates the demand. Even at single screens, the price of recliner seats is around Rs 700 which is very high. As reported by Bollywood Hungama, the ticket price for recliner seat at Plaza Cinema in Dadar is as high as Rs 700.
Meanwhile, as far as the multixples are concerned, the director’s cut or luxe tickets cost as high as Rs 2200 in Delhi. While the normal tickets in the national chains like PVR Inox may remain in the range of Rs 450-Rs 2000.
Sikandar directed by AR Murugadoss stars Rashmika Mandanna opposite Salman.
