Former India captain MS Dhoni and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant were recently spotted partying together, with the video going viral across social media platforms. The get-together between the two Indian stars gained attention after Dhoni made a comment about taking a break to smoke hookah.
India enjoyed a successful tour of Sri Lanka, with the visitors winning the two-match Test series 1-0. Pant featured in both matches despite managing a minor injury niggle. Meanwhile, Dhoni remained away from competitive cricket after missing the entire IPL 2026 season due to a persistent muscle injury.
Hookah Pee Ke Aa Raha Hoon – MS Dhoni to Rishabh Pant
MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant were seen partying with friends. The two were seen together in a relaxed setting after India’s recent Test series against Sri Lanka.
In the video, Dhoni and Pant pose for a picture with a group of friends as music plays in the background. After the picture, Pant appears to call Dhoni, who then walks towards another room. Dhoni is heard saying, “Hookah pee ke aa raha hoon” (I am coming after taking hookah).
The footage appears to have been recorded during a private gathering, with drinks and cocktail glasses visible on a table. However, Cricket Addictor could not independently verify the authenticity of the video or confirm when and where it was recorded.

MS Dhoni’s Hookah Comment Revives Past Dressing-Room Stories
Former Australia captain George Bailey had previously spoken about MS Dhoni’s liking for shisha and his open-door approach during his playing days. Bailey said that Dhoni would sometimes set up a hookah session in his room, where younger players could join him and spend time together.
Bailey had said: “He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. So, he quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much open door policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there.”
Former Chennai Super Kings teammate Michael Hussey also recalled how Dhoni’s hotel room became an informal gathering place for the team. Players would often visit his room, spend time together and socialise in a relaxed atmosphere.
Rishabh Pant Stars in Sri Lanka Test Series
Rishabh Pant finished the two-Test series against Sri Lanka as one of India’s key performers. He scored 168 runs in three innings at an average of 56.00, including two half-centuries. He scored 66 runs in the second innings of the first Test in Galle.
The wicketkeeper-batter became the first Indian to hit 100 sixes in Test cricket. He has 102 sixes in the format, surpassing former opening batter Virender Sehwag’s tally of 91.
Pant also surpassed MS Dhoni to become India’s highest run-scorer in away and neutral Tests among wicketkeepers. He further moved past Shubman Gill to become India’s leading run-scorer in WTC history. Pant will next feature in India’s red-ball campaign against New Zealand.
