Jonathan Scott Celebrates Parents’ 60th Wedding Anniversary and Jokes He and Fiancée Zooey Deschanel Have 'Serious Catching Up to Do'

Jonathan Scott is celebrating his parents' 60th wedding anniversary with his fiancée, Zooey Deschanel, in mind.

The Property Brothers star, 48, commemorated his parents Jim and Joanne Scott's marriage milestone on Thursday, June 11, by posting a current photo of the couple and four photos of the pair from their 1966 wedding day on Instagram. In the caption, he not only congratulated them on the rare achievement, but he also gave a nod to his long-term vision for his relationship with Deschanel, 46.

"It fills me with so much joy to celebrate the 60 year wedding anniversary of the two people who taught me about love. What an inspiration," Jonathan wrote. "@zooeydeschanel and I have some serious catching up to do 🥰."

Jonathan's twin brother, Drew Scott, 48, also wished their parents a happy anniversary on Instagram alongside a few throwback photos. He wrote, "Some of my fave pics of mom and dad. Happy 60th anniversary!🥹 I have lots to learn from them… I love their shared sense of adventure, dedication to family, seeing them laugh together. I owe it all to their love."

This isn't the first time the HGTV stars have credited their parents for teaching them about love. On the couple's wedding anniversary in 2024, Jonathan called them "such goals." Two years earlier in 2022, Jonathan posted a photo of himself with Jim, Joanne and Deschanel, writing, "Challenge accepted!" to reaching a long-term marriage.

Jonathan and Deschanel got engaged in August 2023 during a family trip to Scotland, four years after they started dating in 2019 after meeting while filming an episode of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke.

In November 2025, Jonathan told PEOPLE they haven't made "any plans yet" for their wedding.

"We literally haven't made any plans yet. We're busy with all of the kids' stuff, and so we're really just chauffeurs to the kids' social lives," he said. Deschanel shares daughter Elsie, 10, and son Charlie, 9, with her ex-husband Jacob Pechenik.

He noted at the time that "there's a lot of stuff we want to do" for their big day.

The following month, Deschanel told PEOPLE that she and Jonathan were in an "exploratory phase" of wedding planning and were "not in a rush" to tie the knot.

"We're not in a rush because we've been together so long, so it's not like we're like, 'We gotta get married,' " she explained. "I'd rather find the right place, the right place and situation, so that it's really special and fun."
