One romantic moment in the latest Enola Holmes film was inspired by a sweet gesture from Millie Bobby Brown's husband.
Brown, 22, who stars as the titular amateur detective (and younger sister of Henry Cavill's Sherlock Holmes) in the Netflix franchise, revealed that she added a moment into the Enola Holmes 3 script as a nod to her husband, Jake Bongiovi, who braids her hair as part of the couple's nighttime routine.
In one scene, Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) braids Enola's hair before the pair take a dip in the sea together. While speaking with The Independent alongside Partridge, 23, Brown said, "That was my idea. I wrote that into the script."

"We had this big scene, and we were like, 'Is it going to be a kiss that's going to make the audience swoon? What is it?' " she continued. “And my husband, at night, he braids my hair, and I think it is the most adorable, loving [thing]. I'm obsessed with the fact that he does that for me."
“And so I thought, that's what I want. That's what I think I want Tewkes to do," Brown further explained. "It's such an intimate thing.”
Brown and Bongiovi, 24, wed in May 2024. They later revealed in August 2025 that they had adopted a baby girl.
Partridge told The Independent he did not know the braid scene was added by his costar. He also revealed that Brown had just two minutes to teach him to braid before they filmed the scene.
“Gorgeous, I didn't know that,” Partridge said after his castmate revealed the story behind the romantic on-screen moment. “It's amazing.”

The third movie in the Enola Holmes franchise, which hit the streamer on July 1, sees Enola become a bride. It also has another personal touch relating to Brown's relationship with Bongiovi, the actress previously revealed.
While discussing her beauty routine as a mom with Allure, the Stranger Things alum revealed that she worked with costume designer Consolata Boyle to create a wedding dress similar to her own.
"We worked tirelessly on what that dress looked like. I took inspiration from my actual wedding dress," Brown said in the Allure video.
Brown also revealed the reason for the double-braided hairstyle — different from the singular plait Tewkesbury braided into her hair in their romantic scene — that she sports throughout the film.
"I knew I wanted to do two braids, one to symbolize me, one to symbolize Lord Tewkesbury," Brown explained, adding that her “wig was hanging on by a thread because [of] the weight of the bun” while filming.
Enola Holmes 3 is now available to stream on Netflix.
