Quick hits on the Canucks, Stars, Blackhawks, Hurricanes, and Sharks
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period: The Vancouver Canucks will try to extend forward Teddy Blueger, after not trading him at the deadline.
If the Dallas Stars had been able to move out some salary, they would have circled back to the Calgary Flames about forward Blake Coleman.
The Chicago Blackhawks will try to extend forward Ilya Mikheyev, according to GM Kyle Davidson. He doesn’t think it will be too hard to get done.
The Carolina Hurricanes looked at multiple top-six forward options, including Vincent Trocheck.
NHL Rumors: Patrik Laine, and Auston Matthews
Mario Ferraro wants to remain in San Jose, but there haven’t been any talks. A source said that the Sharks aren’t interested in a long-term deal. The sides are expected to talk before the end of the season.
Could offer sheets come into play this offseason for some pending RFAs
Pierre LeBru of The Athletic: If the Dallas Stars can’t re-sign RFA Jason Robertson, they’ll look to trade him. RFAs Cutter Gauthier (Ducks) and Trevor Zegras (Flyers) also need news deals. 25-year-old, Pavel Dorofeyev, the Vegas Golden Knights leading goal scorer is a pending RFA. Could offer sheets come into play this offseason?
Agent Dan Milstein, on Nikita Kucherov, who is extension eligible this offseason
Pierre LeBru of The Athletic: Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov will be eligible for a contract extension this offseason. Can’t see him going anywhere. Kucherov’s agent, Dan Milstein, didn’t have anything to say about their next contract talks, and don’t count on Milstein leaking anything.
“I honestly have no idea,” Milstein said. “We haven’t spoken, and on this one, I’m keeping my lips sealed. Nothing will leak from my side, and I would expect the same from Tampa. In the end, it really comes down to three people, not four: Nikita, Julien and me.
“You’ll just have to wait and see if and when something happens. Truthfully, I don’t know how it will play out or, most importantly, when.”
