Marek: “Okay, there’s no update on Josh Morrissey right now. We’ll wait like everybody else. But your thoughts on, you know, either include Morrissey in this or don’t. Thoughts on what Kevin Cheveldayoff is facing here.
Pagnotta: “I, well, I think first of all, just with respect, I mean, if, with respect to Morrissey status, if he is knocked out, or if he is going to be out for an extended period of time, I think that just solidifies Winnipeg’s position going into the trade deadline.”
NHL Rumors: Would the Philadelphia Flyers trade Owen Tippett?
Marek: “Oh yeah.”
Pagnotta: “I think they’re pretty, they’re pretty much leaning in that direction anyway, with respect to selling out a number of their assets. Whether it’s (Luke) Schenn or Logan Stanley or Tanner Pearson, or they’re gonna try to move Gustav Nyquist and whatnot.
Beyond the free agents, I think that just kind of solidifies, okay, we need, this is just the icing on the cake for us this season. Let’s, let’s call it a wash. It is what it is. Hopefully for their sake, it’s an anomaly, and you focus on next season.
And I think that just that’s the final nail in that coffin. If Morrissey isn’t out, I don’t really think it’s going to change too much, you know, for the Jets side of things.
So they’ve already had those conversations. They’re going to continue to have those conversations, be it now and going into, you know, into March, for a number of their guys. They’re gonna, they’re gonna, by all accounts, sell those pieces.
But the fact that they, you know, they, offensively has been, it’s been a challenge for them beyond the first line. And that’s still something that Cheveldayoff, and the staff in Winnipeg want to address at some point. Whether they can pull that off before the trade deadline or not, we’re going to have to wait and see.

But they definitely want to bring somebody in to stabilize that second line with, with Cole Perfetti in place. So we’ll see kind of, you know, what they end up doing. This might be something that happens in the summer. But either way, this is an area that they feel needs to be addressed going into next season.”
