The daughter of Top Gear star Richard Hammond has assured concerned fans she’s OK after being involved in a serious high-speed car crash during a Formula E influencer event in Saudi Arabia.
Izzy Hammond, 25, shared a video on her official Instagram page after the crash on Sunday, which happened while she was competing in the Evo Sessions in Jeddah, leaving her car ruined and wrecked after she slammed into a wall.
“I crashed the f–k out of that car,” she said in her clip.

“Massive apologies to my team, Lola [Lola Yamaha ABT], they’ve been so amazing, and I returned the favour by putting their car into a wall, sideways and destroying it, so that’s not great.”
She explained how the “monumental crash” happened, and said her “neck hurts a little bit”.
“How did I do it? I don’t think I had enough heat in my tyres and so was trying to brake and turn with no heated tyres,” she said.

“It all just went a little bit tits-up… and I hit the wall … so my neck hurts a little bit but I’m absolutely fine.
“This stuff happens and now I can say I’m a proper racing driver because I’ve had a monumental crash. I’m going to go to bed now and sleep off my concussion.”
“Like father, like daughter,” one follower commented underneath her clip.
Another added: “‘I can now say I’m a proper Hammond as I’ve had a monumental crash.'”

Her father is Richard Hammond, 56, the former co-host of Top Gear alongside Jeremy Clarkson and James May.
He reportedly almost died in a car crash in 2006 while filming the show and driving at 300mph.
Izzy has followed in her father’s footsteps with her passion for cars and is a motorsport influencer and enthusiast.
Per the BBC, Izzy said shortly after the crash that she was worried about her father’s reaction to the wreckage and wanted to assure him she’s fine.
“My first thought when I was say in that wall was ‘oh my god, everyone’s watching, my dad’s watching,” she said.
“He’s going to cry or something. Can someone just tell him I’m OK?”
