The Gujarat Police Recruitment Board has published the provisional selection list and provisional waiting list for 472 posts of Unarmed Police Sub Inspector under Advertisement No.: GPRB/202324/1. The lists have been uploaded on the board’s official website for candidates to access.The announcement follows the document verification exercise conducted between February 5 and February 10, 2026. Officials stated that the current lists are provisional and do not confer any right to appointment. The final selection list will be issued after completion of all pending verification procedures.Ongoing certificate scrutiny for reserved categoriesAuthorities confirmed that caste certificate verification for candidates belonging to SC and SEBC categories is being carried out by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, while verification for ST candidates is under the Scheduled Caste Development Department.The scrutiny of several candidates’ documents has already been completed, while the remaining cases are under process. The respective departments will determine the validity of each certificate and the candidate’s eligibility for category benefits. The final merit list will be prepared only after these decisions are received.Cut-off marks announced for provisional selectionThe board has released category-wise cut-off marks for the provisional selection list. In the General category, the cut-off stands at 229.75 for male candidates and 216.25 for female candidates, while ex-servicemen fall at 128.25.For the EWS category, the cut-off is 227.75 for males and 211.25 for females. SC candidates require 221.75 for males and 209.25 for females, while SEBC cut-offs are 225.25 and 211.25 respectively. The ST category cut-off is 206.25 for males and 189.25 for females.Waiting list cut-offs and selection criteriaSeparate cut-offs have also been issued for the provisional waiting list. In the General category, the threshold is 225.75 for males and 210.75 for females. Similar category-wise limits have been notified for EWS, SC, SEBC and ST candidates.In cases where candidates secured identical marks, preference was given to the younger candidate based on date of birth. If both marks and age were the same, height was considered, with the taller candidate placed higher.Objection window and compliance provisionsCandidates who find discrepancies in the provisional or interim lists may submit objections in person at the Recruitment Board office in Sector-09, Gandhinagar, along with supporting documents, by 17:30 hours on February 28, 2026. Applications submitted through other modes or after the deadline will not be accepted.The board also stated that any candidate found ineligible during the recruitment process may face action. All decisions issued by the state government from time to time will be binding on applicants.
