'House of the Dragon' Season 3 teases ANNIHILATION for Targaryens; trailer rumoured to arrive with 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' finale

The ‘Game of Thrones‘ spin-off series ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ is gearing up for an epic finale, after scoring its highest-rated episode titled, ‘In the name of the Mother’. As the show comes to an end, all eyes have now turned to ‘House of the Dragon’, which is slated for a mid-2026 release.

‘House of the Dragon’ drops cryptic post

Amid all the buzz about the ‘AKOFSK’ Episode 5, the makers dropped a cryptic post that seemed to sound the battle cry for Season 3. On February 17, new social media posts appeared on the official handles for both ‘Game of Thrones’ and its prequel series ‘House of the Dragon’. While the ‘HOTD’ handle posted a rather grim message that read, “We march now towards our annihilation…” the “Game of Thrones” post featured the line, “There will be no mercy…” The cryptic posts ignited speculation within the fandom that the makers will drop the first trailer and an official premiere date for Season 3 as early as this weekend. Some fans believe that the first trailer and launch date could be unveiled shortly after the Season 1 finale of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’. The new series, set chronologically between ‘House of the Dragon’ and ‘Game of Thrones’, will conclude its first season with the sixth episode debuting on Sunday, February 22.

HBO has already confirmed that ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3, will be an eight-episode instalment, after which season 4 will officially conclude the saga. ‘House of the Dragon’ castSeason 3 is set to see a number of stars, including Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans, returning as their characters. Additional returning cast includes Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox, Simon Russell Beale, Clinton Liberty, Jamie Kenna, Kieran Bew, Tom Bennett, Tom Taylor, and Vincent Regan are the new additions to the latest season.
