It’s getting warm in Philadelphia
TSN: With four straight loses (0-2-2), things are getting a little warm around Philadelphia Flyers coach Rick Tocchet and his coaching staff, according to Darren Dreger. Their success from last season hasn’t carried over so far.
“But again, you’ve got a white-hot head coach in Rick Tochett who is going to do everything he can to continue to push the buttons. Couple of games back-to-back where we heard the coach talk about, ‘Hey, this is on the coach too. I’ve got to find a way to figure this out.’
But he elevated the temperature. So I think that you’re going to see accountability dispensed here in Philadelphia and most definitely the demand for attention to detail because we have not seen that from the Flyers early on.”

The Detroit Red Wings could look totally different if they moved both Dylan Larkin and Simon Edvinsson
TSN: Darren Dreger said there haven’t been any new developments with regards to RFA defenseman Simon Edvinsson. The Detroit Red Wings want to re-sign him. He could be a foundational piece for them.
Dylan Larkin situation is fluid and is dragging into the early part of the season. Kris Draper has moved to the pro scouting department for the Wings.
“He’s the director of pro scouting. And what that means is Draper will now be essentially going through all the ranks of professional hockey, targeting pieces that maybe interim general manager Sean Horcoff feels that they can work with in a trade scenario that pops up for either Dylan Larkin or, if they get to a place where they’re willing to cut bait on Edvinsson and revamp the organization with two massive trades, Larkin and Edvinsson. Well, Kris Draper is going to have to put eyes on the pieces of that puzzle.”
The Detroit Red Wings Made a Big Offer to Simon Edvinsson, But They’ll Need to go Higher
The sides are talking, but no progress between the Detroit Red Wings and Simon Edvinsson
TSN: Darren Dreger says that the Detroit Red Wings continue to talk with Simon Edvinsson’s agent, J.P. Barry, but there has been no progress. The Red Wings are listening to teams to see what they have to say, and weighing that against what it might cost to re-sign Edvinsson.
