Four RFA defensemen that might interest the Pittsburgh Penguins

Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Pittsburgh Penguins GM Kyle Dubas is looking for young players in their early to mid-20s that can play immediately and be a part of their future. There are some RFA defensemen that might be made available, and the Penguins should take a look.

Simon Nemec – New Jersey Devils – RHD – Could use a change of scenary. Would likely coach a first-round pick and an assit, or a hockey trade of equal value. The Devils could look for a veteran player as they are looking for immediate help. It may not make immediate sense for the Penguins given their right side at the moment.

Pavel Mintyukov – Anaheim Ducks – LHD – Offensive numbers weren’t there his year. Cap space is not an issue for the Ducks, but they aren’t a cap team. Is he worth a first-round pick?

Michael Kesselring – Buffalo Sabres – RHD – A big defenseman at 6 foot 5 who can skate. Not much offense though.

Olen Zellweger – Anaheim Ducks – LHD – A reclamation project that could be a steal. Wouldn’t cost close to a first-round pick.

Eight teams that might have interest in New Jersey Devils Simon Nemec

James  Nichols of NJ Hockey Now: A look at potential trade destinations for New Jersey Devils defenseman Simon Nemec.

San Jose Sharks – Need defensemen. Could include Collin Graf in a deal.

St. Louis Blues – Could they do a deal involving Jordan Kyrou?

Montreal Canadiens – Don’t have a lot of cap space and pending RFAs in Arber Xhekaj, Zachary Bolduc, and Kirby Dach. An RFA swap?

Nashville Predators – No GM yet and not much organizational on the right side. Does Ryan O’Reilly make sense or maybe Luke Evangelista?

Seattle Kraken – Have cap space and a need. A Shane Wright for Nemec deal?

Toronto Maple Leafs – Would Matthew Knies be available? They don’t have any younger, right-handed defensemen.

Vancouver Canucks – Could use another young defenseman. Liam Ohgren could be part of the return.
