The star director of the hit series, Sam Levinson, opened up about working on the show to Rolling Stone. Talking about the creative process of the working on the series, the director shared, “As a team, whether it’s editorial or cinematography, we won’t stop until we get the best version of something. The audience can feel it. They know whether or not you’re trying.”He also shared that the song ‘Ride Like the Wind’, which starts off the show as Rue is shown driving away in her jeep, is the main inspiration behind the third season. He added, “It’s one of the best songs of all time. I was listening to it on repeat. I loved the lyrics and thought, This is what I want the season to feel like. It’s a good way of announcing that we’re back.”

Sam Levinson opens up about Angus Cloud’s passing

Famed actor Angus Cloud, who played the role of Fezco in the series, passed away on July 31, 2023, around a year after the second season of the show was released to the world. His character became a fan favourite after being introduced in season 2, and his demise was a big shock to the entire fandom. While talking about Cloud, Levinson revealed that the last time he had met the actor was when he and his wife had introduced him to their newborn son. Talking about the impact his passing has left on the show, he added, “The grief with Angus deeply informed the season. He was someone I loved very much. And someone I fought very hard for. Look, I’ve dealt with addiction. I’m well-versed in it. So you’re always kind of prepared, but losing Angus really shook me and made me angry for a lot of reasons.”Cloud is not the only ‘Euphoria’ character who passed away. Earlier this year, after battling ALS, actor Eric Dane also passed away surrounded by his family members.
