‘Sikandar‘ starring Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna released in theatres on last Sunday, March 30. The film released a day ahead of Eid. This is not the first Salman movie to release on a Sunday, earlier one saw the release of Tiger 3 also on a Sunday and it was during Diwali. However, ‘Tiger 3’ had an opening of above Rs 40 crore on Day 1. ‘Sikandar’ fell short of that and made only Rs 26 crore on the opening day.
The film saw a slight jump on Eid and made Rs 29 crore on last Monday. Since then, there’s been a gradual drop in the collections. While a movie like this should have crossed Rs 100 crore within the first three days, the film crossed that mark on its day 8 which is Sunday. ‘Sikandar’ made Rs 4 crore and Rs 4.84 crore respectively on Saturday and Sunday respectively, according to business tracker Sacnilk. Meanwhile, on day, up till the morning shows, the movie had made Rs 48 lakhs on Monday. Thus, the total collection so far is Rs 103.07 crore.
The collection of the film is similar to that of ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, when compared the trend of the first seven days, according to Box Office India. However, the budget of ‘Sikandar’ was much higher hence, this number is considered low.
