Up to 10 teams are interested in Simon Edvinsson, who met with GM Shawn Horcoff last week

TSN: Detroit Red Wings GM Shawn Horcoff had a face-to-face meeting with Simon Edvinsson and his agent J.P. Barry last Thursday and Friday, according to Pierre LeBrun, who added:

“Everyone was laying their cards on the table with no resolution, of course, otherwise we wouldn’t be talking about it right now.

But it’s a clear understanding, especially where the player is. He feels this has dragged out so long that the most logical option for him is probably a trade. He stopped short of making an official trade request like his teammate Dylan Larkin did.”

Horcoff hopes to re-sign Edvinsson, but there have been up to 10 teams interested, including the San Jose Sharks and Boston Bruins.

Dylan Larkin trade talks have picked up over the past four or five days

Daily Faceoff: Dylan Larkin trade talks have picked up of late, and talks have been rejuvenated with teams. It remains to be seen if a deal can be found this week or next.

David Pagnotta: “On Larkin, who also expects to have been traded by now. That’s, as I said, going into the weekend, it sounded like the conversations had picked up. Now it doesn’t mean like they’ve been, you know, steamrolling their way towards the finish line here. But it did sound like, like some of the conversations that Detroit’s had lately has have been somewhat rejuvenated.

Now, is that, I think it’s a perfect storm as to why that’s occurred. A) he’s been playing, and he’s been doing solid. You know, they got business done last week with (Alex) DeBrincat. There’s still the (Simon) Edvinsson thing going on.

So teams, once you see a little bit of movement from, from teams, you know, some other clubs kind of go, oh yeah, I should probably check in. And it seems like that’s kind of part of the reason why things started to pick up again. And again, plus the fact that he’s playing and he’s putting up some numbers and doing decently.

NHL Rumors: New Jersey Devils, Brenden Dillon, and Dylan Larkin

Whether, whether something does happen within this next week or so, obviously we got, we kind of got to wait and see. But from what I know definitively is that talks did pick up, have picked up. But where are they at this stage this morning? I, I don’t have an exact kind of definition on, on where those conversations are, other than, you know, knowing that things have picked up over the last, I’d say four or five days.”

NHL Rumour Report: Pierre LeBrun on Melnick in the Afternoon last week: “Nobody has tried harder on Dylan Larkin than Minnesota from day 1; they don’t have anything Detroit wants; they need an apple-to-apple type package and the Wild emptied the cupboard for Quinn Hughes.”
