Suryakumar Yadav could not hold his excitement as he was appointed as the brand ambassador of MLB in India
Suryakumar Yadav himself expressed excitement as he can learn a lot through the game. The former India skipper mentioned in an official release that he is looking forward to learning more about the game for himself.
“One of the best things about sport is that it brings people together, no matter where they’re from. I’m excited to partner with Major League Baseball and be part of its journey in India. I look forward to learning more about the game myself and helping more fans discover the energy, excitement, and culture that make baseball something else,” Yadav said in his statement.
MLB explains Suryakumar Yadav’s role with them
In an official statement on the MLB website mentioned that they are on a mission to explore the Indian market, which is known for its unique sports culture. To reach out to the new audience and fans, they needed someone who could work as a bridge between the Baseball league and the Indian sports fans.
MLB found Suryakumar Yadav to be the best possible person who could promote the game throughout the nation. It is informed that Yadav would be featured in original content and fan engagement opportunities aimed at Indian fans.
Why does MLB want to explore the Indian market?
To further strengthen their aim, MLB’s senior vice president of global operations and events, Jeremiah Yolkut, mentioned that India is the home of one of the most lively sports cultures across the globe. By engaging with the fans, Baseball could gain more popularity than before. As there are enormous possibilities, the league wants to get in touch with the millions of sports lovers across the country.
“India is home to one of the most vibrant sports cultures in the world, and this partnership allows us to connect with fans in a meaningful way,” Jeremiah Yolkut said in his official brief.
“Suryakumar is one of the most recognized athletes in India, with an ability to connect with millions of fans across the country. Together, we’ll introduce more fans to the excitement, energy and culture of baseball while continuing to expand the game’s reach throughout the country,” he added.
MLB also announced a renewal with JioStar so that the game can reach every possible cricket fan. With Suryakumar Yadav as the ambassador and JioStar as the broadcasting partner, baseball could gain traction quickly in India. JioStar will help MLB broadcast live games and content related to the sport across the nation.
