The ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) is not only creating headlines because of the explosive batting and game-changing spells, but also because of the off-field controversies as well.

IPL teams have reportedly started becoming very strict about players’ social media activity and personal content, and the latest names in the spotlight are Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal, both are representing Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing IPL 2026.

Punjab Kings bans Arshdeep Singh’s vlogging in IPL 2026

Arshdeep Singh, who is very popular among fans for his fun vlogs and behind-the-scenes videos on YouTube and other social media platforms, has reportedly been told by his IPL franchise, Punjab Kings (PBKS), to stop his vlogging activities for the rest of the season.

The left-arm pacer’s videos usually show travel, team fun, and dressing-room moments, and fans enjoy seeing inside the PBKS story during the IPL season. But now Arshdeep is banned by the PBKS from doing the same, as they now want to be careful about what is being shared online to avoid unnecessary controversy and to stay focused on the business end of the tournament.

Yuzvendra Chahal in trouble amid IPL 2026

At the same time, another incident involving Yuzvendra Chahal has caused a big controversy. The leg-spinner, who was recently in the news for vaping on a flight, reportedly missed his team’s flight on May 7. He will now travel separately and join the squad in Dharamshala on May 8.

Notably, the social media users shared screenshots and video clips from Arshdeep Singh’s vlog and claimed that Chahal was seen using a vape while travelling with the Punjab Kings squad from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad earlier this week.

Many users also claimed that the original vlog was later edited and made shorter to remove the parts showing the senior spinner. This was the second vape incident in the ongoing 2026 season after Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was fined for vaping inside the dressing room during a live match.

These incidents have made franchises even more serious about discipline and social media control during the tournament. Interestingly, Delhi Capitals had already given clear instructions to its players, support staff, and even family members regarding videos and social media posts.

They have reportedly been allowed to record videos for personal memories inside hotels or team areas, but they should wait until the IPL season ends before uploading anything online.

Both Chahal and Arshdeep are key bowlers for the PBKS this season. While the Punjab pacer has taken 11 wickets in 10 matches, the leg-spinner has claimed 8 wickets in 10 matches.

Punjab Kings feel pressure after three defeats in a row

Punjab Kings have lost the momentum after their six-match winning streak was broken this season. However, they are still one of the strongest teams and are currently placed second on the points table with 13 points from 10 games despite losing three games in a row.

But the pressure is slowly increasing because the playoff race has become intense. PBKS has now moved to Dharamsala, which is their second home ground, for three very important matches. PBKS will first play against Delhi Capitals on May 11, then will face Mumbai Indians on May 14, before the big match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 17 in Dharamsala.

They will finish their league phase in Lucknow on May 23 against Lucknow Super Giants.
