Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) online application process for the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2026 for recruitment to 1186 posts across different Bihar government departments is under way. Eligible graduates can apply through the official BPSC website till May 31, 2026.The BPSC 72nd CCE is one of Bihar’s biggest state recruitment examinations and is conducted for appointments to administrative, police, revenue, welfare and development-related services. The notification was issued on May 5, while the online registration process began on May 7.The commission has also revised the total number of vacancies from 1230 to 1186 after 44 Sugarcane Officer posts were withdrawn and shifted under separate recruitment rules.
How to apply for BPSC 72nd CCE 2026
Candidates can apply online by visiting the official BPSC website.After opening the online application link, candidates need to complete registration, fill in personal and educational details, upload documents and pay the required fee before final submission.Applicants are advised to carefully verify all details before submitting the form.The online application process is currently active and candidates can submit forms till May 31, 2026.Applicants from all categories have to pay an examination fee of Rs 100 online. Candidates who do not have Aadhaar authentication will also have to pay an additional biometric charge of Rs 200.The preliminary exam will consist of 150 objective-type questions carrying negative marking of one-third marks for every wrong answer. The duration of the exam will be two hours.Candidates shortlisted in the prelims will appear for the mains examination, which includes General Hindi, two General Studies papers, an essay paper and an optional subject paper.The commission said candidates nearly 10 times the total number of vacancies will be shortlisted from the preliminary examination for the mains stage.
