Brock Boeser is okay to move if the fit works for him and his family

TSN: The Vancouver Canucks will listen to offers on Jake DeBrusk and Elias Pettersson, and Evander Kane will likely be moved soon, according to Darren Dreger, and if it makes sense for Brock Boeser, he’d consider it despite signing a seven-year deal this past offseason.

“It’s interesting to me that Brock Boeser’s name is out there. This guy just signed a seven-year contract with the Canucks on July 1st. Now, is he willing to move?

Well, he is, if there’s a fit that makes sense to Boeser and his family. He’s a playoff performer, so teams will express some interest.”

Carter Hutton: “Yeah, if we’re talking about Vancouver Canucks, and how bad it’s been, the other player, you know, Conor Garland’s name has been thrown around lot. A player that I like. I think, with his little grit, his skill, you know, he can be edgy too. I think he could fill in well, you know, even a third, fourth line, he could jump up, be in your top six as well. He’s a pretty dynamic player. What’s the take on him?

Pagnotta: “Yeah, and he’s versatile. He plays both wings. You can, like you said, you can slide him up and down the lineup. He’s available. Is, I mean, everybody in Vancouver, almost is.

But, you know, it was earlier on in the season, there was a little bit of reluctance. They didn’t want to start listening on every guy. They wanted to kind of shift, even after they made the announcement that they’re going through a rebuild.

But he’s a player that is available. They are listening on Conor Garland, and if the right offer presents itself, they’re going to pull the trigger on this deal. They’re listing on a number of guys, as I mentioned.

But Garland is a player whose new contract doesn’t kick in till July one. That’s when his no-trade clause and no movement clause kicks in as well. He shifts from, I think it’s $4.95 million cap by right now, shifts over to his $6 million cap hit on his new deal.

But there are teams that are interested in him. There are teams that have circled before. Detroit, which trying to figure out, Myers. They’ve had interest in Garland before. I think Boston has. A few other teams as well.
