Dylan Mulvaney Shows Love for CNN’s Kaitlan Collins After Trump Attacked Both Women During WHCD Speech

The president later shared a photoshopped image of the anchor’s face on Mulvaney’s body

Dylan Mulvaney is sharing her support for Kaitlan Collins. 

The media personality, 29, made a supportive post on her Instagram Stories for the CNN anchor after President Donald Trump attacked both women during his White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech on Friday, July 24. 

In the July 25 post, Mulvaney shared an inspirational quote attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt from Collins’ recap of the evening.

She captioned the quote — which read, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” — with three white heart emojis.

During his speech, Trump singled out Collins, 34, who had just been onstage to accept an award for her 2025 coverage of the administration.

“I want to personally congratulate CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on receiving her award. It was all about me. It’s a fake — she shouldn’t get the award, it was a fake. But I didn’t mind. I said, ‘Kaitlan, congratulations.’ But it was fake, there’s no question about it,” the president, 80, said.

Trump then criticized the White House correspondent for her facial expressions, telling her to “just smile.”

He pivoted to comparing Collins to Mulvaney, alluding to the 2023 Bud Light controversy.

“I thought Kaitlan had really made it big with a major new sponsorship, but then I informed her that it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can, it was Dylan Mulvaney,” he said.

Mulvaney was targeted after making a short video for a collaboration with Bud Light. The brand partnership was quickly slammed by conservatives, who launched a boycott that led to a significant decline in sales.

“Dylan Mulvaney cost Bud Light $35 billion in market cap,” Trump claimed. “That was the worst commercial ever made by the way, for those few people who want to hear that. Most people don’t care, but I would. I wouldn’t want to hire Dylan any time soon.”

After the event, Collins shared an Instagram post of the evening that included the inspirational quote and two photos of herself with CNN colleague Wolf Blitzer, who presented her with her award. 

“The second best part of last night’s White House Correspondents Dinner was receiving an award from my friend and mentor, @wolfblitzer. The first was reminding everyone why the First Amendment — and asking uncomfortable questions that people in power don’t like — matters,” she captioned her July 25 post.

The next day, on Sunday, July 26, the president doubled down on his attack by sharing a photoshopped image of the anchor’s face on Mulvaney’s body on Truth Social. 

In the fake image, the person is holding a Bud Light beer and is seated at a table with more beers.

In 2025, Mulvaney spoke with PEOPLE about how she “healed” after the Bud Light scandal.

“I am about a thousand times stronger than I was before that situation happened. I’m finally in a place that I have healed, and I’m in such a good mental headspace,” the Paper Doll author said at the time.
