Robert Irwin is following in his sister Bindi Irwin’s footsteps with his newest gig.
The Aussie TV star and wildlife warrior, 21, has been confirmed as the first contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars US.
Robert announced his involvement in the American reality TV show, which Bindi starred in 10 years ago, at the Hulu Get Real event in LA.

He walked up on stage at the event shirtless while holding a snake around his neck as the crowd cheered.
He reflected on watching Bindi compete on the show’s 21st season with dance partner Derek Hough and said he dreamed of doing the same one day.
“I had these little dreams, going, ‘One day’ and now that dream is a reality and I am over the moon,” he told the crowd at the event.

Robert echoed this sentiment as he shared a video from the event to his Instagram.
”It’s official, I’m heading to Hollywood for Dancing With The Stars Season 34,” he wrote.
“This has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid watching my sister’s incredible journey on the show.”
“I cannot believe it is about to become a reality. So grateful.”

“Welcome to the DWTS fam,” wrote the official Instagram for the competition dance show.

Robert will have big shoes to fill as he takes to the competition, after his sister won her season.
She was just 17 at tge tune but told audiences of Good Morning America in her first interview after the win that she felt as though she had “grown as a person” since being on the show.
Bindi made some memorable performances during her competition but the stand out was a contemporary routine that she performed as a tribute to her late father.
The theme of the week was ‘Most Memorable Year’ so she chose to perform about the year Steve died and her life was forever changed.
”What shaped me the most would probably be when my dad passed away. It’s been nine years and I’ve never really dwelled on that point. I think I’m ready to tell that story,” Bindi said in rehearsals with partner Derek Hough.
