The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) officially announced the exam date for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 on July 21, 2025. CLAT is a national-level entrance examination for admission to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 participating National Law Universities (NLUs) across India.The CLAT 2026 registration window is now open from August 1, 2025, and will remain active until October 31, 2025. Interested candidates can fill out the application form through the official website — consortiumofnlus.ac.in.According to the official notification, the entrance exam will be held in offline mode on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM.
How to register for CLAT 2026
Once the portal is live, follow these steps to complete the registration:
- Visit the official website — consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Click on the “Register” button and enter your full name, mobile number, and email ID.
- Verify your email by entering the OTP sent to your inbox.
- Fill in your personal, academic, and contact details. Choose up to three test centre preferences.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents.
- Pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.

Who can apply for CLAT 2026
For UG – 5-year integrated LLB Programme: • Students who have completed Class 12 or are appearing for it in the 2025–26 academic year can apply.Minimum marks required: • General/OBC/PwD/NRI candidates: 45% • SC/ST candidates: 40%For PG – LLM Programme: • Candidates must hold an LLB degree or be in the final year of their LLB course.Minimum marks required: • General/OBC/PwD/NRI candidates: 50% • SC/ST candidates: 45%
CLAT 2026 application fee structure
