South Africa will be up against Namibia in a historic T20I match. This article provides details about Namibia’s Playing 11 vs South Africa for the upcoming game.

Namibia Playing XI vs South Africa- Only T20I, South Africa Tour of Namibia 2025:

    Openers: Dylan Leicher, Malan Kruger

Namibia will relish the opportunity of playing an international match against South Africa when they take on them in the only T20I on Saturday (October 11).

The captain would back the team to put on a strong performance against the Proteas in all three aspects, be it batting, bowling, or fielding.

The responsibility will be on the openers to get the team off to a good start in the first six overs, i.e,. The power play while batting first or while chasing.

Namibia is expected to open the innings with Dylan Leicher and Malan Kruger, both of whom will be entrusted with the responsibility of scoring runs individually, along with laying a platform for the incoming batters.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Louren Steenkamp, Gerhard Erasmus (c), Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (wk), Jan Balt, JJ Smit

The opening duo will be followed by a middle order that the team heavily relies upon because of the experience that it possesses, and would want them to make a significant contribution for Namibia to increase their chances of winning.

The onus will be on captain Gerhard Erasmus, who is one of the most accomplished batters in the playing XI, and would like to lead from the front.

Another reason why Namibia has eir hopes pinned on the middle order batters highly is because of the depth or the lack of it in the batting lineup.

Erasmus would also wish for batters like Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton and JJ Smit to give him a good amount of support

If the top six batters of Namibia can convert the start that they get into a meaningful score, then Namibia will be able to post 170-180 runs while batting first, which is expected to be a good score.

Bowlers: Ruben Trumpelmann, Ben Shikongo, Bernard Scholtz, Jan Frylinck

When it comes to Namibia’s bowling department, it has been at the forefront of some of Namibia’s wins in the T20I format of the game, and the team management would want the bowlers to put their hands up once again against South Africa.

The Namibian team would look up to experienced bowlers like JJ Smit and Ruben Trumpelmann to challenge the opposition batters and restrict them from scoring freely by picking up wickets at regular intervals.

The home side would want its fast bowlers to do the majority of the work with the ball, as pacers have been the strength of Namibia.

If Namibia can restrict the opposition to a score of 150-160 while bowling first, they would feel that they have a good chance of getting the better of South Africa in the team’s first outing against them in international cricket.

It will have to be a collective effort from the bowlers of Namibia, who will be up against a strong South African batting order.
