Bayern Munich saw their perfect start finally ended and Juventus were held, but there were wins for Marseille and Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Harry Kane scored a last-minute equaliser as Bayern Munich were left to settle for a 2-2 draw with Union Berlin on Saturday, ending their perfect start to the season.

Bayern had set a record for teams in Europe’s top five leagues by winning their first 16 games in all competitions, including victory over holders Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this week, but they came unstuck in the capital.

    Bayern streak finally ends

Union, who had earlier seen a Ilyas Ansah strike ruled out by VAR for offside, took the lead in the 27th minute when Manuel Neuer allowed Danilho Doekhi’s tame effort to slip under him.

Luis Diaz levelled in stunning fashion for Bayern, the Colombian sliding to keep the ball in play after a one-two with Josip Stanisic before bending a wondrous shot inside the far post from the byline.

Yet Doekhi looked to have won it for Union seven minutes from time when he volleyed in his second after Bayern failed to deal with a free-kick.

Kane, having been at fault for Doekhi’s second, atoned for his error with his 13th goal of the season, heading home from Tom Bischoff’s left-wing cross.

Despite seeing their streak come to an end, Bayern extended their lead at the top of the table to six points, as RB Leipzig were beaten 3-1 by Hoffenheim.

Borussia Dortmund, a point further back in third, also failed to take advantage as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Hamburg.

Carney Chukwuemeka’s first goal since joining Dortmund permanently from Chelsea put Dortmund in front, but Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer’s 97th-minute header gave Hamburg a share of the spoils.

Fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen enjoyed a day to remember as they hammered Heidenheim 6-0.

Patrik Schick and Ibrahim Maza each scored doubles, while Jonas Hofmann and Ernest Poku were also on target.

    Juventus held in Turin derby

After being held to a 1-1 draw by Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League in midweek, Juventus were again frustrated in the Turin derby.

Juve goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio and Torino’s Alberto Paleari were each forced into several saves, but there was no break in the deadlock as the Bianconeri missed out on the chance to gain ground in the Scudetto race.

AC Milan also suffered a setback as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Parma.

Alexis Saelemaekers’ 12th-minute effort and a Rafael Leao penalty 13 minutes later gave the Rossoneri command, but goals from Adrian Bernabe and Enrico Del Prato secured a point for Parma.

Milan go top, but Napoli, Inter and Roma can all go above them on Sunday.

    Marseille go top

PSG are, for once, not having it all their own way in Ligue 1 and were leapfrogged by both Marseille and Lens on Saturday.

Marseille moved top of the table with a 3-0 win over Brest. Angel Gomes put them ahead in the 25th minute, before Mason Greenwood’s 33rd-minute penalty and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s effort eight minutes from time secured the points.

Lens, meanwhile, thrashed Monaco 4-1 thanks to Odsonne Edouard, Mamadou Sangare and a double from Wesley Said.

Folarin Balogun levelled for Monaco from the penalty spot after Edouard’s opener, but was sent off for a foul on Sangare in the 45th minute after Said had restored Lens’ lead. Ansu Fati missed a second penalty for Monaco in stoppage time on a day to forget for the hosts.

Marseille and Lens are each a point ahead of PSG, who visit Lyon on Sunday.

Griezmann at the double for Atletico Madrid

Antoine Griezmann was the hero for Atletico Madrid as they beat Levante 3-1.

Adrian de la Fuente’s own goal gave Atletico a 12th-minute lead, which was extinguished by Manu Sanchez’s far-post header nine minutes later.

But Griezmann restored Atletico’s lead just after the hour mark when he was teed up by Marcos Llorente to tap in, and he then bundled home a second after Julian Alvarez was denied by Mathew Ryan.

Atletico’s win moves them within five points of leaders Real Madrid, who face Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
