In the 83.6th over, following a well-crafted bowl by Cameron Gannon, Michael Neser attempted to capitalize on a wide delivery by slashing at the ball towards deep point. The shot, intended to release pressure, ended up in the air with Connolly positioned perfectly. With great anticipation, Connolly executed an acrobatic, sliding catch just inside the boundary rope, denying Neser a chance to add to his 38 runs off 56 balls. Queensland dominates Western Australia on a strong Day 1
Queensland’s first innings overall demonstrated dominance despite the spirited attempts by Western Australia’s bowlers. Batting first, Queensland managed to amass 323 runs for the loss of six wickets in 91 overs by stumps on Day 1.
