Youth have the power to change the nation’s direction: CRPF DG Gyanendra Pratap Singh
CRPF DG Gyanendra Pratap Singh Urges Youth to Drive Viksit Bharat 2047 at IIM Rohtak

ROHTAK: Young people have the power to transform the direction and condition of the nation and turn the dream of an Atmanirbhar Bharat into reality, if they channel their energy positively. This was stated by IPS officer Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), while addressing a special event organised to mark the 17th Foundation Day of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak. More than 1,500 students participated in the celebrations. The programme brought together top figures from India’s security and creative sectors, including Sadanand Date, IPS, Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA); R.R. Swain, IPS, former Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir; and noted lyricist and Guinness World Record holder Sameer.Congratulating the IIM community on its Foundation Day, Gyanendra Pratap Singh underlined the importance of respect for teachers, parents, peers, women and the underprivileged as core values of leadership. He said that IIM Rohtak has emerged as one of the country’s leading management institutions and that its students will play a crucial role in realising the Prime Minister’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat 2047.” He urged students to lead with integrity, put human resources at the centre of decision-making and take a proactive role in nation-building.Speaking on the theme of “Effective Management in Uncertain Times,” NIA Director General Sadanand Date drew on his experience as a police officer to explain how the changing nature of crime worldwide has made traditional policing values—such as foresight, patience and ethical decision-making—equally relevant for corporate and legal domains. He stressed the need for clear-headed leadership amid challenges posed by climate change, emerging technologies and shifting global geopolitics. In the first panel discussion on “White-Collar Crime in a Globalised Economy,” former J&K DGP R.R. Swain said that white-collar crime is no longer limited to corporate misconduct. It has now become a major tool for terror financing and “financial terrorism,” posing a serious threat to global economic stability and national security. Senior advocates Pramod Kumar Dubey and Davinder Pal Singh also joined the panel, sharing perspectives on the legal dimensions of such offences.IIM Rohtak Director Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, in his welcome address, thanked the distinguished guests and congratulated the institute community on 17 years of growth. He presented a brief report on the institute’s progress in placements, research output and campus expansion. From the healthcare sector, Dr. Manoj Gumber of Apollo Hospitals spoke about the importance of mental health, emphasising mental resilience, early awareness and the creation of a supportive environment for students and professionals. In the second session, renowned lyricist Sameer interacted with students and urged them to read widely, observe deeply and practise their craft consistently.
