    The recently ended 2025 hasn’t been easy for NFTs. They were down badly across the board, with lots of critics even calling them dead now. Despite a harsh market in 2025, marked by a 37% year-over-year revenue decline and a year-end valuation drop to $2.5 billion, the NFT sector experienced significant milestones driven by institutional adoption, the integration of major “blue-chip” projects, and a shift toward utility. Below are the top moments for NFTs in 2025.

    1. Otherside Entered The Gueness Book Of Records

    In February 2025, Otherside, the metaverse from the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT maker Yuga Labs, set a Guinness World Record for the most concurrent players in an online first-person shooter (FPS), with 2,197 participants. The Project Dragon experiment showcased high-capacity, interconnected virtual spaces in preparation for its full launch in 2025. The event demonstrated the platform’s capabilities and the tools, which will be available to the community via the ODK.

    2. OpenSea Announced The Coming Of $SEA

    Earlier in 2025, OpenSea, one of the leading NFT marketplaces, announced the launch of its renewed NFT market. Moreover, they finally announced that the $SEA token was coming after years of clamoring. OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer officially confirmed that the $SEA token is scheduled to launch in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026. This announcement marked OpenSea’s transition from a dedicated NFT marketplace to an “on-chain economy” hub where users can trade everything from tokens and art to perpetual futures.

    3. Doodles Launched $DOOD And Doopies NFTs

    In February 2025, Doodles, the team behind the popular Doodles NFT collection, launched its NFT coin, $DOOD, and the “Doopies” 25,000-edition NFT collection on Solana, aiming to expand NFT community ownership and ecosystem utility. The $DOOD token (10 billion supply) is designed for lower entry-point participation, with a 68% allocation for the community, including airdrops to holders.

    4.MeebCo Acquired Meebits NFT IP

    In February 2025, Yuga Labs, the digital asset company renowned for creating the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, sold the Intellectual Property for Meebits to Meebit Company. MeebCo is now on a mission to preserve the provenance of Meebits, a NFT collection featuring a limited set of 20,000 unique 3D voxel characters registered as NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, from Larva to Yuga to MeebCo.

    5. Toast Launched Good Vibes Club NFT Collection

    In March 2025, Toast, the award-winning animation studio founded by Chris and Tyler Guyot in partnership with SuperRare, launched Good Vibes Clubs, a non-fungible token series consisting of 6,969 unique Ethereum-based 3D profile pictures (PFPs). The Good Vibes Club (GVC) NFT collection quickly established itself as a top-tier project by combining high-end 3D animation with strategic partnerships.

    6. Node Acquired CryptoPunks IP

    In May 2025, the Infinite Node Foundation acquired the full intellectual property (IP) rights for CryptoPunks from Yuga Labs. As a nonprofit dedicated to digital art conservation, Node intends to serve as a permanent mission-driven steward for the collection. Punks is a globally recognized non-fungible token collection featuring a limited edition of 10,000 pixilated NFT collections hosted on the Ethereum blockchain network.

    7. Orange Cap Games Acquired Moonbirds IP

    In May 2025, Orange Cap Games, a Web3 game and experience design studio specializing in bringing intellectual property to life through physical and digital trading card games, acquired the Moonbirds, Mythics, and Oddities IP from Yuga Labs, with a focus on integrating them into a Web3 gaming ecosystem. The acquisition was well-received, with floor prices tripling to 0.9 ETH immediately following the announcement.

    8. NFT Stickers Became A Thing In 2025

    In 2025, NFT Stickers became a central pillar of the TON ecosystem, transforming from simple messaging visuals into verifiable, tradable digital assets on the TON Blockchain. Telegram officially integrated NFT stickers into its platform in 2025, following a strategy hinted at by founder Pavel Durov in late 2024. At the time, we saw NFT brands like BAYC, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, Claynosaurz, Doodles, etc drop stickers on Telegram.

    9. Moonbirds Announced $BIRB Token Launch

    In October 2025, the Moonbirds NFT team confirmed the launch of their native “$BIRB” token on the Solana blockchain for Q1 2026. Announced by parent company Orange Cap Games, this move aims to expand the NFT ecosystem with new utilities. The announcement triggered a surge in Moonbirds NFT floor prices. The token launch is part of a broader strategy by the Orange Cap Games team to revitalize the brand and integrate it into the Solana ecosystem.

    10. TokenWorks Launched NFT Strategy

    In late 2025, TokenWorks significantly impacted the global NFT landscape with the launch of its $PUNKSTR and the broader NFT Strategy Tokens framework. This model is widely viewed as a major innovation for its ability to bridge illiquid NFTs with DeFi through an automated “flywheel” mechanism.
