Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UP Board) has extended the deadline for conducting Intermediate practical examinations for the year 2026 in view of students’ interests. The board had earlier scheduled the practical exams in two phases—from Jan 24 to Feb 1 and from Feb 2 to Feb 9. However, after the stipulated period, it was found that practical examinations were still pending in some schools or marks had not been uploaded online.Taking note of the situation, the board has now extended the date for completion of both phases of Intermediate practical examinations till Feb 13, 2026. The decision has been taken to ensure that students do not suffer due to procedural delays at the institutional level. The board has issued strict instructions to practical examiners and school principals, terming this extension as the final opportunity. They have been directed to complete all remaining practical examinations and ensure 100% uploading of marks on the board’s official website by Feb 13.UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh said that the extension has been granted solely in the interest of students and warned that no further relaxation will be provided. He said that timely conduct of examinations and uploading of marks is the responsibility of the concerned institutions and examiners. The board has also made it clear that if any student’s examination result is affected due to non-uploading of practical marks within the extended deadline, strict accountability will be fixed. In such cases, the practical examiner concerned, school principal, and the district-level officials responsible for supervision will be held fully responsible. The District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) concerned will also be accountable for lax supervision if delays occur, the board stated. The move is aimed at ensuring transparency, timely declaration of results, and safeguarding the academic interests of lakhs of Intermediate students across the state.
