Australia are likely to tour Pakistan for a three-match ODI series, which is likely to be scheduled to be played in Lahore by the end of the month of May.

The upcoming ICC ODI World Cup in 2027 would compel all teams to focus more on 50-over matches than on any format of the game. However, the WTC championship final is also lined up in the same year, so they would also have to focus on several Test matches, which are scheduled alongside the ODIs.

Pakistan have had a humiliating form in recent outings in 50-over ICC tournaments, which includes their group-stage exit from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and also the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at their home. Australia, on the other hand, dominated these contests, winning the World Cup and ending up as semi-finalists in the CT.

Australian tour of Pakistan: ODI series proposed with tentative schedule

The last time the Aussies played a 50-over game on Pakistani soil was back in 2025 when they visited the nation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and made their way into the semi-finals of the contest.

The Aussies will be touring Pakistan for an ODI series for the first time since 2022, and now, with the latest tour proposed, a tentative schedule has been announced. The Australian cricket team has revealed that all matches are likely to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, as learned by some sources close to Geo Super.

The proposed plan includes a three-match series marking a significant international assignment for the home side, and the opening match is expected to be played on the 31st of May, followed by two more matches on the 2nd and 4th of June, respectively. However, nothing has been made official by the PCB yet.

Australia are scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a white-ball series

Australia truly have dominated the Pakistan team in the 50-over format and has had a clear upper hand with 71 wins over the 36 wins for their opposition. Following the end of their tour in Pakistan, the Aussies are all set to travel to Bangladesh.

The Aussies would step on Bangladeshi soil for a long white-ball series in June 2026, thus ending their 15-year gap between bilateral ODI series in the country. All three matches will be scheduled to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

The tour will start with three ODI matches to be played on the 9th, 11th, and 14th of June, and then the next three T20I matches will also be played on the 17th, 19th, and 21st of June at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.

Test series lined up for Pakistan in 2026

Meanwhile, Pakistan would be preparing to advance in their World Test Championship campaign with their upcoming two-match red-ball series against Bangladesh scheduled to start in May. The test series is scheduled to begin on the 8th of May and will be played up to the 20th of May, in Dhaka and Sylhet, respectively.

These two will be part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle in 2025-27, after they made a promising start to their WTC campaign with a 1-1 draw against South Africa.

Shan Masood and his men would look to take their campaign further with wins against Bangladesh. Later this year, the Pakistan Test team will play a Test series against England, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.
