BCCI takes big call after England humiliation
Meanwhile, the BCCI is set to review the performances of the Indian cricket team and the coaching staff after India’s embarrassing T20I series defeat against England. The decision came after England’s dominant nine-wicket win over India in the fourth T20I at Bristol on July 9.
With this win, the hosts took a 3-0 lead in the five-match T20I series against the Men in Blue. According to reports, the review will look at both the players and the support staff, including head coach Gautam Gambhir, whose contract runs until 2027.
Before losing to England, India had also suffered a 2-0 T20I series defeat against Ireland. This happened for the first time since 2019 when India lost back-to-backe T20I series.
