Shane Wright’s agent on his trade request not being granted
Nicolas Cloutier: Kurt Overhardt, the agent of Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright, whose trade request did not come through.
“There is nothing we can discuss at present; we will need to observe developments in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Shane is fully committed to the Kraken, and that is his sole focus at this time.”
The Philadelphia Flyers are not really looking at bringing anyone in on a PTO
Jackie Spiegel: As of Thursday, a source said that the Philadelphia Flyers don’t plan on having anyone to training camp on a PTO. They could still bring someone in, and it doesn’t mean that they are against having anyone to camp on a PTO. With the shortened preseason and the fact they already have some built-in competition, it does make sense that they don’t have anyone extra in.

Is it a surprise that Jake DeBrusk wasn’t traded this offseason?
Sekeres and Price: David Pagnotta was asked about Vancouver Canucks forward Jake DeBrusk, and if it’s a surprise that he’s still with the team.
Sekeres: “Are you surprised Jake Debrusk is still a Vancouver Canuck?”
Pagnotta: “Yes and no. Yes, from the point of his positioning, and you know, $5.5 million cap hit, it’s pretty solid cap hit. Now, he does have five years left, and that’s why I’m not overly shocked that we haven’t seen anything yet because there is term. He’s entering year or has entered year three of seven of this deal.
And now with the, you know, with, with RJ in, in charge and, and the direction of him and the Sedin’s, that kind of, you know, putting a mark on this team, or starting to really put a mark on this team as part of this rebuild. You know, maybe the ask shifted a little bit.”

Expressed dissatisfaction with being part of rebuild (understandably so given when he signed). Salary cap shot up. Salaries escalated making his look better & better. Draft pick value ? Traded by deadline, right?”
