Dave Pagnotta of The Fourth Period joined SiriusXM NHL Network Radio with Steve Kouleas and Jason Strudwick, and they asked whether Dylan Larkin has a chance to expand his list further for a trade, given the reception he got in Montreal.

Steve Kouleas: “Larkin has a list of 10. Do we know all 10 on this new list? And could Montreal become Team 11? Could he have to go there because he has to go there, Dave?”
Dave Pagnotta: “No, he can. He holds the cards, and he’s well within his rights to do it. And he showed up. Different situation than that of (Connor) Hellebuyck. He showed up to camp, and he’s faced the music, and he’s going to continue to face the music until a move is made.
NHL Rumors: Patrick Laine, Simon Edvinsson and Dylan Larkin
We don’t know all 10 teams yet, but we do know some teams that have poked around that haven’t been confirmed as part of the 10. That includes LA. That includes Boston and, of course, as you mentioned, Montreal. We all know that 20,000 people in the Bell Centre on Saturday and tried to help Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton out by doing their part and cheering for Larkin, but Montreal still not on that list.
Now my understanding with the Canadiens is if Shawn Horcoff were to call Kent Hughes and say, ‘Okay, Dylan told us he’s willing to go there.’ I’m under the impression, based on everything I’ve been told, that it wouldn’t take long to finalize a trade. The Canadiens have something in place that they would be willing to give to Detroit, to present to Detroit, that they feel comfortable with and that they would accept.
But it’s all in Dylan’s hands, and so far, Larkin and his family are adamant about the current list that they’ve got. Now, this may be a scenario that, if it does prolong further, we go a month from now, we hit the quarter mark. It’s U.S. Thanksgiving, and he’s still a Red Wing. At that point, does he then shift and go, ‘All right, it was pretty cool getting my name chanted in Montreal. Bit of a different environment over there. They got a great team. Okay, let’s, let’s explore this.’
And again, if it gets to that point, my understanding is that the Canadiens feel confident in what they can present to the Red Wings. But until we get to that point, we’re still waiting. And it may not get there if another team steps up as part of the 10 that he‘d be willing to go to. But again, we’re still waiting, and obviously the Alex DeBrincat contract factored in over the last week.
They got hot and heavy in making that happen, and focusing on that. And of course, they also have the (Simon) Edvinsson) situation to deal with Horcoff talking and indicating that he’s telling teams, ‘Yeah, we’re going to sign this kid.’
Josh Anderson Wants to Stay in Montreal, and Can Canadiens Fans Lure Dylan Larkin?
So, okay, that’s great. But he’s still waiting, and he’s back over. He’s back on our side of the pond now. I believe he’s out in Boston, training with his trainers to get ready for when he’s either signed or traded, so he can get into game action.”
NHL Rumors.com Note: While it is great that he got the reception he did in Montreal, Dylan Larkin wants to play in the US as of now. However, he could reconsider given how the American players are treated in Montreal. Not to mention they added another American player in Chris Kreider. But he wants to go to Minnesota to play with Quinn Hughes. That is the top spot for him.
But you have to wonder if the list “expands” even more if he is still on the team later in the year. Let’s be honest here, Larkin has one foot, if not two, feet out the door, and the team and players know it.
