What is going on with the Philadelphia Flyers to start the season, and will we see some roster changes?
NHL Network: Elliotte Friedman was on NHL Now and was asked when we could see some changes to the Philadelphia Flyers and what is going on there.

Jamison Coyle: “Flyers team, Elliotte, winless in their first nine games to start the season (they won last night). At what point do we start to see some kind of changes taking place with that team, and, and what’s going on right now?
Friedman: “Jamison, I have no doubt if they wanted to make changes, they could do it right now. I think that the one thing that Daniel Briere is really trying to do is avoid making something. When you’re in this situation, and you’re really drowning, and that’s what they are, it’s very easy to do something that you could regret for a long time. And I think that, that’s what Daniel Briere was trying to avoid.
This is a team that did go to the second round last year, and maybe they weren’t a powerhouse, but they’re better than they showed right now. And I think that’s what we’re dealing with right now, is don’t make a move that you’re going to regret for years to come to do some kind of short-term solution.
NHL Rumors: Friedman on the Travis Konecny Report
You know, I’ll say this: I, I got a clip. I got a clip, I was at the Toronto game last night, but I went home, and I was sent a clip of the last, you know, minute of that game with Detroit and Philly (Thursday) night. And the thing that really shocked me guys, was Philly didn’t pressure them for a long time. And Detroit was able to rag the puck and just pass it around. And then finally (Porter) Martone, I think it was, did a, did a real smart press on Larkin that forced a turnover and almost tied the game. But just watching them, if you go back and you watch the last minute of that game, and watch how, you know, Philly doesn’t pressure and Detroit is allowed to move the puck around, it really just struck me about how discombobulated they are.
I, you know, I think Jamison also too, in these situations, I think the biggest question becomes ownership. Because I do believe that Briere will say, ‘Look, we cannot panic, we cannot do anything stupid.’ And sometimes I think in those situations ownership can come in and they can force something to happen because they’re like, ‘We’re just not waiting any longer.’
