    ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ box office collection Day 8: James Cameron directorial scores LOWEST collection; numbers fall to Rs 7.50 crore on second Friday

    ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ may have posted a solid first week at the Indian box office, but the film got off to a shaky start on week 2. As per reports on sacnilk, the James Cameron directorial witnessed a dip on its eighth day, collecting around Rs 7.50 crore in India net, marking its lowest single-day total so far. The film’s second Friday collections came in lower than even its first Monday collections, which was approximately Rs 9 crore on Day 4.

    Despite the slowdown, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has managed to push its overall India net total to an estimated Rs 117 crore by the end of Day 8.

    In terms of audience turnout and occupancy, the film registered an overall English occupancy of 40.33% on Friday, with evening shows peaking at 56.27%, indicating stronger footfalls later in the day.

    The film’s English-language screenings continue to lead the box office contribution, earning an estimated Rs 51.05 crore so far. Hindi versions have followed closely with net collections of around Rs 37.4 crore.Regional dubbed versions have also played a role in contributing to the film’s overall total collections with Tamil collections reaching approximately Rs 16.68 crore net and Telugu earnings standing at an estimated Rs 11.42 crore. Kannada and Malayalam versions recorded the lowest figures, earning just around Rs 39 lakh and Rs 11 lakh respectively.

    ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ gross total collections

    ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is steadily inching towards the Rs 150 crore mark at the gross domestic box office. With its total gross collection estimated at Rs 141.75 crore. The film has emerged as the highest-grossing Hollywood release of 2025 in India within just one week. Director Cameron had previously topped the Indian box office in 2022 with ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, which went on to gross nearly Rs 500 crore.

    ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ beats ‘F1’ to become hichest grosser

    The film has also surpassed the Rs 129 crore gross total of ‘F1 Movie’ to become the biggest foreign film of the year in 2025. Trade analysts expect ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ to target the Rs 200 crore gross milestone by the end of its second week.While the sequel of the Hollywood action film enjoyed an undisputed run at the Indian box office, ‘Avatar 3’ has had to fight off stiff competition from ‘Dhurandhar’, which is currently ruling the box office.
