Nakamigos, one of the leading non-fungible token collections in the global non-fungible token market, has seen its floor price value and trading sales volume skyrocket to significant highs. In the past 24 hours, the Nakamigos NFT collection has amassed a trading sales volume of 913 ETH. During this time, the Nakamigos trading NFT sales volume has surged by +3,800% from the past day. In this article, we shall explore some of the factors fueling this growth.

Nakamigos Tops In Daily NFT Sales Volume

Data compiled by CoinGecko.com, an on-chain crypto market data aggregator and non-fungible token explorer, shows that Nakamigos NFT collection has recorded massive growth in the past few hours. In the past 24 hours, the Nakamigos NFT collection has raised a trading sales volume of 913 ETH, equivalent to over $3.1 million. During this time, the Nakamigos NFT trading sales volume has surged by +3,800% from the past day.

    Nakamigos NFT collection

Launched in March 2023, Nakamigos is a non-fungible token collection from the digital asset incubation studio HiFo Labs, featuring a limited edition of 20,000 unique, 24×24 pixelated NFT characters created on the Ethereum blockchain network. These NFTs were inspired by the style of CryptoPunks NFT collections and are named after Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous founder of Bitcoin.

During its launch, the Nakamigos non-fungible token project quickly gained traction among collectors, surpassing the trading volume of established NFT projects like the Bored Ape Yacht Club shortly after its public mint. The Nakamigos NFT collection has gained significant attention for its rapid success, becoming an alternative non-fungible token series to NFT holders seeking cheap pixelated NFTs.

Factors Fueling Nakamigos’ NFT Sales Volume

The notable surge in the Nakamigos NFT collection is associated with the recent happenings from the Punks NFT event. Over the weekend, Michael Joseph Winkelmann, known professionally as Beeple, hosted a highly anticipated CryptoPunks Meetup 2.0. By description, CryptoPunks Meetup 2.0 is the second installment of a community NFT event focused on the CryptoPunks NFT project.

The highly anticipated NFT event featured live art, trivia, prizes, a community artist showcase, and opportunities to connect with other NFT enthusiasts. Attendees also get an opportunity to discuss with prominent NFT community members, including the founders of CryptoPunks, and learn about new perspectives and trends in the space. Punks NFTs were created by Matt Hall and John Watkinson, the co-founders of the creative and digital asset incubation studio, Larva Labs.

During the gathering, Beeple presented what appeared to be a recorded interview with Matt Hall and John Watkinson, the creators of CryptoPunks. In this episode, they claimed that Nakamigos’ NFT collection came before CryptoPunks and was a secret Larva Labs project. The two NFT icons even went ahead to the “reveal” of so-called “V0 Punks,” creating a fictional backstory directly to Nakamigos. Moreover, they even handed out Nakamigos-branded flyers at the event to reinforce the playful claim, further fueling speculation.

In response to these claims, the Nakamigos NFT collection rapidly started skyrocketing, with its floor price value rising from as low as 0.18 ETH to as high as 0.42 ETH within just a few hours. In less than 13 hours, the Nakamigos NFT trading sales volume had reached over $3.1 million. At the time of publishing, the frenzy appears to have faded, and the floor price has since dropped back to 0.18 ETH.

Nakamigos have appeared in Beeple everydays for the last year straight. Larva Labs signing and promoting this flyer at his party.

Nonetheless, it was not the first time for Beeple to indirectly endorse Nakamigos’ NFT collection. In November 2024, the iconic NFT artist, Beeple, promised to create the second chapter for the Nakamigos NFT project. At the time, the announcement sparked controversy with the crypto and NFT communities questioning Beeple’s true intentions. Last month, Billionaire Mike Novagratz, the chief executive officer of Galaxy Digital, also just changed his X avatar to a Nakamigos NFT image.
