Carly Pearce Takes an Ambulance Ride After Broken Ranch Bottle Slices Her Thumb

Carly Pearce’s after-show dinner landed her at the hospital.

The country star, 35, posted a TikTok video on Saturday, Aug. 9, revealing she had a brief visit to the hospital on Friday, Aug. 8, after she accidentally cut herself with a glass bottle.

“Get ready with me with one hand,” she said at the beginning of the video.

As Pearce put on her makeup, she explained to her viewers that she was getting ready to eat dinner after her show in Holmdel, N.J., and opened up a bottle of ranch dressing when everything went awry and the part of the bottle “snapped off and a piece of glass cut my thumb.”

At first, the musician wasn’t too worried, but then “all of a sudden, I thought that ketchup was running down my hand, and it actually was blood,” she said. 

“We had a few paramedics on site at the show, so we decided just to have a look at it,” she continued, revealing that they then informed her she’d need a few stitches because the wound was “pretty deep.”

Since Pearce would need stitches, she was advised to go to the hospital, but as she continued, she revealed, “What I didn’t know was that the ride to the ER would be in an ambulance, and it’s policy that the patient has to sit on the stretcher and be strapped in.”

Upon arrival, she received an X-ray to confirm there was no more glass in her thumb and that she would get the stitches. After she was given a “very painful” numbing cream, the medical staff gave her stitches in the crease of her thumb, and she was able to head home.

“I’m kind of figuring out how to do things, not the way that I would,” the singer said as she attempted to apply her makeup without using her injured thumb.

“My assistant almost had to shave my left armpit because I didn’t think I could reach it,” she added.

Pearce then explained that because it’s her dominant hand, she’s still figuring out how to do everyday things, including holding a microphone on stage during her shows. She also joked about possibly bedazzling the bandage for her performances. Pearce is set to perform at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, Calif., on Thursday, Aug. 14.

“Now I am so grateful that it was not worse, and that obviously I am going to be fine in like a week, but it is interesting trying to figure out how to do these normal things, like pull your pants up after you pee.”

“The moral of the story is be careful when you’re opening up things, and don’t go — like my mother says I do — ‘like a bull in a china cabinet,’ ” she concluded.

Several users commented on her TikTok video, with one user writing, “The ranch had no business being that dramatic 😭.”

Another added, “Only Carly Pearce could lose a finger to a ranch bottle 🤣.”

Meanwhile, other users were impressed with her makeup skills. “Putting on mascara like that and having it look good is actually super impressive,” one person commented. While another requested more fashion content, “girl please do more grwms!!”
