CISCE ICSE, ISC results 2026: Girls with 99.46% pass percentage take lead over boys, slight rise from last year

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially announced the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) results 2026. The scorecards were declared at 11:00 AM, and the results were simultaneously made accessible through official platforms, including DigiLocker and the CAREERS portal. Around 3.6 lakh students have taken the test. Around 2,58,721 students from 2,957 schools have participated in the Class 10 exams. Around 1,03,316 students from 1,553 schools have taken the ISC (Class 12 exams).

ICSE, ISC pass percentages remain above 99%

One notable characteristic of the results is the extremely high pass percentage recorded in both ICSE and ISC examinations.ICSE (Class 10)The ICSE results show stable performance with marginal variation across gender categories.

    • Overall Pass Percentage: 99.18%
    • Girls: 99.46%
    • Boys: 98.93%

ISC (Class 12)The ISC results mirror similar consistency, with slightly higher performance recorded among girls.

    • Overall Pass Percentage: 99.13%
    • Girls: 99.48%
    • Boys: 98.81%

The figures confirm a clear yet marginal lead by female candidates, continuing a trend seen in previous years.

ICSE 2026: A stable trajectory with incremental gains

This year’s ICSE (Class 10) results show a total number of students who took part in the exam at 2,58,721, which shows a slight increase from 2,52,557 students from 2025. However, out of the total number of students, 99.18% were successful. The analysis shows that out of 2,58,721, 1,36,032 boys and 1,20,558 girls managed to pass, thus leaving a minute 0.82% unable to pass the examination.Comparing with 2025A year-on-year comparison shows:

    • Overall pass percentage rose from 99.09% to 99.18%
    • Girls’ performance improved from 99.37% to 99.46%
    • Boys’ performance saw a modest increase from 98.84% to 98.93%
    • Candidate participation increased by over 6,000 students

These incremental gains, while not dramatic, indicate a steady strengthening of academic performance rather than any volatile shifts.

ISC 2026: Marginal improvement, strong consistency

In Class 12, the ISC exam reported a total number of 1,03,316 candidates, an increase from 99,551 in 2025. The passing percentage was 99.13%, marginally more than the last year’s figure, which stood at 99.02%.The girls were again victorious, reporting a pass percentage of 99.48%, while the boys achieved 98.81%. Though the difference is small, it is consistent with last year’s data.Among all candidates, 1,02,414 managed to pass, leaving behind 902 candidates as failures. This demonstrates the high success rate of the exams.Year-on-year comparison

    • Overall pass percentage increased from 99.02% to 99.13%
    • Girls’ pass rate increased slightly from 99.45% to 99.48%
    • Boys’ pass rate increased relatively significantly from 98.64% to 98.81%
    • Number of total candidates increased by about 3,800

The ISC results follow the same pattern as the ICSE trends, with a steady improvement and not a drastic one, indicating stability within the educational structure.

Strengths at the regional and institutional level

The regional results show a continued presence of academic excellence in different zones. For instance, in 2026:

    • The southern region scored highest in ISC with a stellar score of 99.87%
    • The western region emerged victorious in ICSE with a score of 99.85%

These results are marginally higher than in 2025, when both regions showed good results. This suggests that regional differences have narrowed. There has also been growth in the number of institutions participating in these exams:

    • ICSE: 2,957 schools compared to 2,803 in 2025
    • ISC: 1,553 schools compared to 1,460 in 2025
Boys CISCE girls ICSE ISC lead Pass percentage results rise Slight Year
