Delhi schools closed today on account of Guru Ravidas Jayanti on Feb 12

In 2025 Guru Ravidas Jayanti will be celebrated on February 12, 2025. It’s the 648th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas, a respected saint and poet. Guru Ravidas had influenced social reforms in India by promoting equality and social justice and opposing the caste system. This day is important for his followers; they hold processions, langar, pray, and perform rituals to honour his teachings.

Delhi schools closed on Feb 12: The Delhi government Monday declared Ravidas Jayanti on February 12 as a holiday, according to an official notification. The notification issued by the general administration department said, “The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi is pleased to declare Wednesday, February 12, 2025, as a holiday in all government offices, autonomous bodies and public undertakings of the Delhi government, on account of Guru Ravidas Jayanti“.
The restricted holiday on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti declared in November 2024 has been cancelled, it said.
