Drake has officially cancelled his current Anita Max Win Tour in Australia and New Zealand.

In a statement given to Rolling Stone, the singer’s representative cited “a scheduling conflict” as the reason for the last-minute change.

“We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,” the statement read.

“All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon.

“We look forward to sharing the rescheduled dates with you as soon as possible,” the statement concludes.”

The news of the shock cancellation came just hours after his Brisbane show on Tuesday evening.

Drake played four shows in Sydney last week as part of his tour and was set to perform at Brisbane Entertainment Centre again on March 4 and another Sydney date on Friday, March 7.

The Hotline Bling hitmaker was meant to travel to Brisbane and Auckland next after having already played some shows in Melbourne and Perth.

The announcement follows rampant speculation that he would pull the plug on the remainder of his tour after he flew out of Australia during a break between shows.

Claims that the artist had shipped his stage equipment to Europe added fuel to those rumours. The 38-year-old reportedly departed Brisbane for Fiji on Wednesday to enjoy some downtime before returning to the stage.

Drake is yet to publicly comment on the cancellation.
