Fans go crazy as Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s electrifying knock takes RR to an emphatic win against LSG in IPL 2026

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) season continues to deliver unforgettable high-scoring thrillers. In the 64th match of the tournament, fans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur witnessed absolute carnage as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured an emphatic 7-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday. Chasing a mammoth target of 221 runs, the Royals hunted down the score with 5 balls to spare, driving the home crowd into a state of pure frenzy. The victory solidifies RR’s strong standing in the tournament while showcasing the incredible depth of young Indian batting talent.

Disciplined death bowling from RR halts LSG to an achievable target

Electing to bat first, the Lucknow Super Giants got off to a flying start. Openers Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis put on a sensational 109-run partnership in just 8.2 overs. Inglis smashed a fiery 60 off 29 balls, featuring 7 fours and 3 towering sixes. Marsh anchored the innings brilliantly, narrowly missing a well-deserved century. The Australian all-rounder blasted 96 off 57 deliveries, anchoring LSG past the 200-run mark.

At 182 for 2 by the 16th over, Lucknow looked well on track to cross 240. However, the Rajasthan Royals mounted an exceptional comeback in the final overs. Yash Raj Punja was the standout bowler for RR, returning impressive figures of 2 for 35 in his 4 overs, dismissing the dangerous Nicholas Pooran (16) and Inglis.

The real squeeze came in the final over bowled by Jofra Archer (1/39). With LSG penalized for a slow over-rate, forcing an extra fielder inside the circle, the Royals kept their cool. A chaotic final over saw three wickets fall, including two run-outs, Rishabh Pant (35) and Marsh. Archer then clean-bowled Ayush Badoni for a duck on the final ball. RR restricted LSG to 220 for 5, a total that felt significantly under par given Lucknow’s explosive start.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi steals the show with a blazing knock as RR outclass LSG in IPL 2026

Chasing 221, Rajasthan Royals needed a miraculous start, and their top order delivered exactly that. Captain Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone early with a quickfire 43 off 23 balls, hitting 6 fours and a six. However, it was the Impact Player, young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who completely stole the spotlight and sent the fans into raptures.

Coming in as a substitute for bowler Yash Raj Punja, the young phenom played one of the most electrifying knocks of IPL 2026. Suryavanshi dismantled the LSG bowling attack, racing to his half-century in just 23 balls. He went on to score a breathtaking 93 runs off just 38 deliveries, striking at an astonishing 244.73. His masterclass was studded with 7 fours and 10 massive sixes, leaving bowlers like Mayank Yadav (0/50) and Akash Singh (1/54) with absolutely no answers.

By the time Mohsin Khan finally dismissed Suryavanshi in the 14th over, the damage was already done, with RR sitting comfortably at 180 for 2. Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel ensured there were no late hiccups, anchoring the remainder of the chase with a composed, unbeaten 53 off 38 balls. Alongside Donovan Ferreira (16*), Jurel guided the Royals across the finish line to reach 225 for 3 in 19.1 overs. This emphatic 7-wicket victory cements RR’s reputation as one of the most formidable chasing sides of the season.
