Heather Dubrow‘s daughter is going to college!
The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 56, announced the exciting news that her daughter Katarina, 18, is going to be attending Yale University in the fall with a sweet post on Instagram. The post started with her daughter sitting on her bed, which was covered in university gear.
Other snaps showed Heather and her husband Terry Dubrow, 66, sitting with their daughter on the bed, as Katarina and Terry held their dogs. Another snap showed the soon-to-be college student posing in front of a cake with the “Class of 2029” written on it.
“CONGRATULATIONS KATARINA!!!!” the proud mom wrote. “We are so proud of you and excited to watch you SHINE in college !!!! WE LOVE YOU !!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 @yale_2029 @yale #bedparty”

The reality star shares four children with the Botched star — Ace, 14, Kat, and twins Nick and Max, 21.
Over the years, Heather has supported her children through thick and thin. When her older daughter Max came out as bisexual in June 2020, Heather shared how proud she was of her. When her daughter Kat came out as a lesbian one year later, Heather was just as supportive.
After Max came out privately to her mom at the beginning of the pandemic, “I guess I didn’t make a big deal about it,” she recalled to PEOPLE in 2022. “She texted me and goes, ‘I’ve got to tell you something.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ She’s like, ‘I’m bisexual.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah. I know. Remember we talked about it?’ ”
A year later, their second daughter “had been talking about her sexuality for a while,” Heather said. But when it came to breaking her big news to the family, she was very low key.
One day, “Kat decided to drop in our family group text, ‘By the way, I’m a lesbian,’ ” Heather recalled. “I didn’t see it, and I was mad because the dogs pooped in the house, so I wrote back, ‘Who let the dogs poop in the house?’ It was a total mom fail, and they’ve never let me forget that.”
“All I cared about was creating an environment where they all felt safe, comfortable, happy,” said the mom of four.

The desire to share their family’s story — and use their platform for good — factored in to Dubrow’s decision to return to Real Housewives of Orange County this season. Appearing on an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Dubrow chatted with host Andy Cohen about her children with Cohen making the observation that she’s “a great mom” and that her kids have their feet “on the ground.”
Dubrow then talked about one of the things that makes her a proud mom, seemingly referring to how her daughters have each come out in the public eye.
“When we talked about me coming back [to The Real Housewives of Orange County last year], one of the things I said to you was, ‘We’ve got these four kids with different genders, different sexualities. This should be a normal conversation in all kinds of homes across our country, and we want to help normalize that.’ So it makes me really proud!”
