“I also am not convinced that they’re making a coaching change either. I would be surprised. I would be surprised. I’ve been surprised before, but I would be surprised. I think Kyle, they will try to do something to light a match underneath a group that got as far as it did last year. ”
Anthony Di Marco: Was told on the weekend that Rick Tocchet’s job with the Philadelphia Flyers isn’t in trouble. A coaching change isn’t imminent.

Is the coaching seat in Calgary getting warm?
Ryan Pike: Elliotte Friedman on the NHL Network, when asked if there were any coaches on the hot seat, or could be on it soon.
“I think the one team everyone’s kind of looking at right now is Calgary (Ryan Huska). And I don’t know if that’s fair, but I recognize it’s kind of out there. Look, they’ve started a rebuild and this is going to be a long process. Any you guys know, rebuilds in this league, they’re not quick. You need a lot of players, and you need good players.
And I like Calgary’s youth. I think they’ve got a lot of really good young players, but they’ve been beat pretty badly twice at home now. I quote a Gord Stellick rule all the time: if you’re going to stink, stink on the road. And they’ve had two pretty ugly losses at home.
And the other thing I’m concerned about there, is that, you know, the players there, as those games have gotten on, and you it (Thursday) night with Colorado, as Colorado pulled away, the long guys were like, ‘oh man, we’re just not going to be able to catch these guys tonight.’
NHL Rumors: Potential Goaltending Options for the Rangers, and Center Options for the Red Wings
And I don’t think it’s necessarily fair, but I do think there’s going to be a lot of talk about just how Calgary navigates this, particularly if the home record isn’t good and the losses continue to be lopsided.”
