'Panchayat Season 4': Sanvikaa aka Rinki defends the series' innocence amid political themes - " I think it’s still there..."

‘Panchayat Season 4’ created a buzz even before its release, and ever since it dropped on OTT, it has been winning hearts, both among audiences and critics alike. When the series debuted with its first season, it was the simplicity woven into the storyline and the innocence of the characters that charmed everyone. With the new seasons, as the story progressed, it was noticed that other aspects of the plot gradually started taking the spotlight. Like in the last two seasons, politics emerged as a prominent theme. This raises the question: has ‘Panchayat’ drifted from its innocence? Weighing in on the same, actress Sanvikaa aka Rinki from the series admitted that the graph has progressed with subsequent seasons, Panchayat hasn’t lost its core values.

I think that innocence is not lost – Sanvikaa

“I don’t think so. Though the key characters are competing with each other if either of them is in need, even the opposition team will come and help and support,” said the actress.Drawing parallels between reel and reality, the actress added, “So I think even in villages right now, though there will be opposition, though people will hate each other, but when there are crises, or like when someone needs any help, no matter how much they hate that person, they will always go and help that person”.She mentioned, “So I think that innocence is not lost.” Sanvikaa shared that perhaps it has been simply masked by the situations that people are having right now, like politics. “But if we talk about innocence, I think it’s still there,” she admitted. Moreover, the actress previously discussed her character’s development throughout the show’s four seasons. She explained that the creators intentionally chose to gradually reveal her character’s layers rather than all at once. In the first season, Sanvikaa’s character doesn’t appear until the very last sequence of the season finale. Over time, her character has evolved, and now she plays a more active and engaged role in the storyline.
