Pinterest has introduced a new feature that lets users reduce the number of artificial intelligence (AI) created images they see while using the platform.
This update, announced on October 16, allows people to choose how much AI content appears in their feed.
The feature is found under the Settings menu, inside a section called “Refine your recommendations”. From there, users can choose to see less AI-generated content in specific categories like beauty, fashion, art, and home décor.

Pinterest said more categories will be added later, based on what users ask for. If preferences change, users can go back and update their settings at any time.
In addition to adjusting general settings, users can give feedback on individual posts. If they come across a Pin that seems to be AI-generated and does not match their interests, they can tap the menu icon on that post and choose to see less of that type in the future.
The new tools are now live on the Pinterest website and Android app, with the iOS version expected to follow in the coming weeks.
Matt Madrigal, Pinterest’s Chief Technology Officer, said the goal is to help users shape their experience and find content that better matches their tastes, without removing all forms of AI.
