David Schwartz Turns His X Avatar To A PHNIX NFT

On September 7, 2025, David Schwartz updated his profile picture on X, previously known as Twitter, to an image similar PHNIX non-fungible token collection. PHNIX NFT is a non-fungible token collection associated with the $PHNIX meme coin on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) blockchain. The inaugural collection was launched on July 2, 2025, through the XRP. cafe NFT marketplace.

The PHNIX NFT collection features a limited edition of 1,589 unique NFTs created on the XRP chain, each with its own rarity rating. These NFTs are directly tied to the $PHNIX meme coin, which serves as a symbol of the XRP community’s resilience. The project gained significant attention when Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer changed his Twitter profile picture to one of the PHNIX NFTs, triggering a surge in the coin’s value.

David Schwartz is Chief Technology Officer at Ripple. David is one of the original architects of the XRP Ledger. Prior to joining Ripple, David Schwartz was Chief Technical Officer (CTO) for WebMaster Incorporated, a Santa Clara software developer. Schwartz is an early crypto investor. He has publicly discussed his crypto investment history, including having mined Bitcoin in its early days before selling his holdings to invest in XRP and Ethereum.

More High-profile Individuals Tap NFT For Profile Pictures

David Schwartz joined the rapidly growing list of high-profile individuals who have tapped NFT images for a profile picture. In July 2025, Billionaire Mike Novogratz, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Galaxy Digital, has just changed his profile picture to a Nakamigos non-fungible token image. Previously, Vitalik Butterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, also adopted a milady maker NFT image as his X profile picture.
