India will be up against South Africa in the second of the three-match ODI series. This article provides details about South Africa’s Playing 11 vs India for the second match of the series.

South Africa Playing XI vs India- 2nd ODI, South Africa Tour of India 2025:

    Openers: Ryan Rickelton, Aiden Markram

South Africa would hope for a better effort from its top three batters as their performance, or the lack of it, was one of the reasons why the team fell short of what could have been a memorable win for them in the first ODI.

The opening pair of Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram would be entrusted to get the team off to a good start while batting first and while chasing as well for South Africa to have a chance of defeating India in the next game.

Rickelton, who is known for his aggressive batting at the top of the order, was dismissed early in the previous match and would look to make up for it in this particular match.

Rickelton’s opening partner and South Africa’s captain in the series opener also played a rash shot as he chased a wide one from Arshdeep to be given out caught behind, and would eye a strong comeback in the second outing.

If the openers are able to get the team off to a good start, it will make things easy for the middle order, which showed great fight despite losing three wickets early in the chase during the first game.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Quinton de Kock (wk), Matthew Breetzke, Temba Bavuma (c), Dewald Brevis, Marco Jansen, Corbin Bosch

A mentioned above, Africa’s middle order bailed the team out of trouble and gave them a realistic chance of winning the game.

However, the middle-order batters would back the openers to lay a platform for them to capitalise on.

The visitors are expected to change for the game in Raipur, with regular captain Temba Bavuma coming back to lead the team after being rested for the first ODI.

Bavuma’s inclusion will further boost the middle order, which already has aggressive batters like Matthew Breetzke, Dewald Brevis, Marco Jansen, and Corbin Bosch, all of whom can turn the match in Africa’s favour.

Bowlers: Prenelan Subrayen, Nandre Burger, Ottneil Baartman

Africa might rethink their bowling combination for the next game and bring in a second specialist spinner in place of a fast bowler.

Having said that, teams tend to go with an unchanged playing XI after the first match of a series, which is something Africa will also do in all likelihood.

If the case remains so, the responsibility will be on the four fast bowlers to do most of the damage and restrict India to a manageable total.

The fast bowling quartet of Marco Jansen, Coebin Bosch, Nandre Burger, and Ottneil Baartman will look to bring their A game to the fore against a strong Indian batting lineup, with Prenelan Subrayen being the only specialist spinner.
