The Sandbox, the blockchain-based metaverse platform, has partnered with the multinational electronics manufacturing company, Casio, to bring a virtual G-shock non-fungible token series in the metaverse. This collaboration is proof that the metaverse has moved beyond the initial hype and is evolving into a more niche and industry-driven technology. G-Shock Enters The Metaverse
In an August 12 blog post, the Sandbox NFT team confirmed that they have partnered with Casio to launch the virtual G-Shock non-fungible token avatars collection in the Metaverse. Under this collaboration, Casio and the Sandbox NFT team anticipate leveraging blockchain exposure to launch the G-shock Droid Collection. This highly anticipated NFT avatar collection is scheduled to launch in September 2025.

Launched in November 2021, the Sandbox is a renowned blockchain-based metaverse platform letting users create, own, and monetize their gaming experiences and digital assets. It combines elements of gaming, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi) on the Ethereum blockchain. Users can build, explore, and interact within the virtual world, purchasing and developing virtual land and creating and trading assets like NFTs.
On the other hand, Casio is a multinational electronics manufacturing company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The electronics company is known for producing a wide range of products, including timepieces, musical instruments, calculators, and electronic devices. Casio is recognized for its innovative and durable watches, such as the G-shock watch series, and its massive contribution to the development of the first compact all-electric calculator.
G-SHOCK Droid NFT Collection Overview
In the meantime, the sandbox NFT team has launched the allowlist for the G-shock Droid non-fungible token avatar collection. To join the allowlist, participants are required to own at least, a Sandbox Avatar, a digital representation of a player that allows them to interact within the virtual world; Land, a virtual piece of real estate represented by a non-fungible token or the Jurassic World Egg, a premium digital collectible that unlocks utility within the metaverse NFT game.
From September 2025, the Sandbox and G-SHOCK will release their first official robot-inspired avatar collection for The Sandbox. The highly anticipated NFT collection will feature drawings from five of the brand’s most iconic styles, including DW-5600, DW-6900, GA-110, GA-2100, and the oversized GA-V01. Each NFT avatar will feature a unique look and offer gameplay enhancements exclusive to The Sandbox NFT ecosystem.
