Trey Hendrickson ends his holdout but isn’t practicing
The Cincinnati Bengals’ First-Team All-Pro edge rusher, Trey Hendrickson, ended his contract holdout today and reported to Cincinnati for training camp, but did not participate in any drills. Rather, he stood with defensive linemen and observed team activities.
“The plan was to be here day one. Things transpired. Nothing’s really changed,” Hendrickson told reporters earlier today. “Being here, just acclimating with the guys, that was a priority for my wife and I.”
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hendrickson reported as “a good-faith gesture to try to jumpstart negotiations” for a new contract. Also, he will no longer be penalized $50,000 in daily fines.
Seattle gives John Schneider an extension
The Seattle Seahawks are giving general manager John Schneider a four-year contract extension that ties him to the team through the end of the 2030 season, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Schnedier has been serving as the franchise’s GM since 2010.
The Bengals cut ties with one of their best backs
The Cincinnati Bengals announced earlier today that they were releasing running back Zack Moss, who signed a two-year deal with the team back in March of 2024. Moss finished the regular season as Cincy’s second-leading rusher with 269 total yards and three scrimmage touchdowns in eight games.
Terry McLaurin reports to training camp
Similar to Trey Hendrickson, Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin also ended his contract holdout and reported to practice today, according to ESPN’s John Keim. Upon his arrival, McLaurin was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list with an ankle injury.
“It feels good to be around my teammates and around the fans,” McLaurin said. “I can’t beat that at all. They showed me a lot of love and support. You lose sight of some things when the business gets involved, but I never lost sight of the way they supported me. It’s business, but it has nothing to do with them.”
