India National Cricket Team Test captain Shubman Gill has caught the attention of Virat Kohli with his unbelievable batting performance in the second Test match against the England National Cricket Team.

However, King Kohli has shared a special Instagram story for Prince Shubman Gill after the newly-appointed Test captain delivered a performance for the ages in the match against the Ben Stokes-led side.
Gill smashed 269 runs in the first innings and 161 runs in the second innings, becoming the first player in history to register a 250 and a 150 in the same Test match.
On Day 4 of the Edgbaston Test match, after the end of India’s innings, Kohli took to his Instagram to praise Gill for rewriting history and labelled him as a star boy.
“Well played star boy. Rewriting history Onwards and upwards from here. You deserve all of this,” the legendary India National Cricket Team batsman Virat Kohli wrote in a message for Gill on his official Instagram handle.

Speaking on the BBC Test Match Special, the legendary India Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara lauded Shubman Gill for having the hunger to succeed in Test cricket. He stated:
“This is an excellent innings from Shubman Gill, the way he is carrying himself, the hunger is still there. You need to have the hunger to succeed again and again after the double-hundred in the first innings.”
While labelling Gill’s ton as a ‘classical Test innings’, Pujara highlighted how the batter is in total control whenever he hits a century. He said:
“Classical Test innings from Shubman Gill. Whenever he scores a hundred, he is in complete control, no false shots, and it’s remarkable the way he paces his innings.”
Meanwhile, speaking on Sky Sports, the former India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik lauded Gill for batting magnificently in England. He said:
“Gill has been excellent. It’s not easy playing against England at home, but he’s been magnificent with the bat.”
Gill’s mentor, Yuvraj Singh, also took to his official X handle to praise the Test skipper for his performance.
