Dropping the first two episodes of her Disney+ docuseries the day before her birthday apparently wasn’t enough of a gift from Taylor Swift to her fans.
The final two episodes of The End of an Era docuseries have been moved up to December 23, the streaming service, describing it as “an early gift to fans around the world.”
The six-part docuseries gives “a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the tour that saw Swift perform in sold-out stadiums around the world from March 2023 through December 2024.”
The first two episodes premiered on December 12, the day before Swift’s birthday.
The final four episodes were previously scheduled to be rolled out two per week. Episodes three and four are due to drop at 6pm on Saturday (AEST) as scheduled, and now the full series will be available at 6pm two days before Christmas.
While fans got to hear her love Travis Kelce in the first two episodes, they will actually get to see him in the episodes due to drop this week.
The professional football player is featured as not only part of her life, but also as a surprise performer during a London stop on her record-breaking Eras Tour.
The first two episodes of the series addressed how Swift was dealing with the thwarted terror attack planned for the Vienna Era’s Tour show.
“We had a lot of scary, violent things happen to the tour,” she says to the camera in Episode 1.
“We dodged a massacre situation.”
It also discussed the horror attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in Southport, England, claiming the lives of three young girls.
She privately met with the parents of the victims, which was not recorded, with her film crew standing by backstage during their meeting.
The cameras caught her walking back to her dressing room afterwards, sobbing uncontrollably with her head in her hands.
Her mum, Andrea, tried to comfort her saying: “I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I know you helped them.”
She later said, despite how she’s feeling, it’s her job to put on a smile and perform.
“From a mental standpoint, I do live in a reality that’s unreal a lot of the time,” the star said.
“But I need to be able to handle all the feelings and then perk up and perform.”
She later added that “being afraid that something is going to happen to your fans” added a “new” level of anxiety.
The second episode was much lighter, explaining how the tour choreography came together.
It also showed footage of bonus day, when the singer handed out $295 million in bonuses to her crew.
The cheques included $US100,000 ($150,000) to the truck drivers who transported the stage, and a massive chunk of change to her backup dancers, band and singers.
Film crews recorded as Swift handed out the large cheques to her team, with the Fate of Opelia singer saying a brief speech before the crew opened their envelopes.
“Before you open yours, I just want to say you guys – this leg of the tour has been harder than anything I’ve ever done in a live setting, and you guys have taken this on with such excitement, such curiosity and the endurance you’ve shown,” she said.
Dancer Cam Saunders was recorded as he started reading the card.
“Dearest Cam, we’ve travelled the world like we set out to do. We’ve dazzled the crowds but we’ve missed family too,” he read.
“My full gratitude doesn’t come from a bank but here’s a… [bleep] dollars just to say thanks. Love Taylor.”
Internet slueths believe Cam said the amount was $US750,000 ($1.1 million) but of course that hasn’t been confirmed.
Others said the dancers got close to $US1 million ($1.5 million) each.
