Kevin Weekes: Sources say that the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers are among the potential fits for Anaheim Ducks pending UFA defenseman Radko Gudas, if he goes to free agency.
He could be looking at a two or three-year deal at between $3.5 and $4 million.

Ryan Paton: “What’s going on with Morgan Rielly, because it seems that he is willing to waive that no-move clause?
Pagnotta: “Yeah, it certainly seems like that, and this is going to be more of a case-by-case basis. I believe the Leafs have an idea of some of the teams that he would be willing to waive to go to, but there’s, are there others that may intrigue him?
Well, that’s going to be up to the Leafs to decide. And if they find a deal that works, they’re going to bring it back to Morgan and his camp and say, ‘All right, we’ve got to deal with San Jose, we have a deal with Anaheim, we have a deal with X, Y, and Z, you know, are you comfortable with this, because we are?
And if that’s the case, and when that becomes the case, then they’ll sign off, or they’ll say, yeah, you know what, I don’t want to go to wherever. but this is going to be a case-by-case basis. Teams are calling, they are engaged in those conversations.

As you mentioned, teams are calling about (Matthew) Knies as well. This is Toronto, just seeing if they can bring back an absolute haul for him, that might even be greater than what the Canadians were willing to give them back before the trade deadline. And I got to imagine the Habs have circled back at some point with the new regime and Chayka in charge to see if they can make something fit here.
But it’s going to be interesting in Toronto. Not only on Knies front, certainly Morgan Rielly. There are other shoes that need to drop here on this roster, and they’re just getting started.
